ESA update on Statement for Responsible Space Sector
ESA Statement for a Responsible Space Sector gains momentum in 2024
ESA has released its annual update on the Statement for a Responsible Space Sector initiative in 2024 – available here.
With the 2025 activity roadmap now in the final stages and working groups for GHG emissions reporting, CSRD, and sustainability toolkits for space startups (amongst others) underway, Aurora is looking forward to a year of significant progress in defining, detailing and delivering workable sustainability methodologies for Spaceports and Launch Operators alike.
Already an extensive list of signatories; ESA is looking to involve more key players across Europe and extend invitations to the wider world to collaborate on workable and scalable solutions to the sustainability issues facing the new space sector in 2025. Should you want any information on this for your business please just drop ESA, or us, a line – Aurora sits on several working groups and attended the plenary in November last year so we would be happy to tell you the pros, cons and next steps to involvement – contact ruth@aurora-environmental.co.uk for more details.
